Welcome to Wonder & Wandering! I’m really glad you’re here.
My name is Sara, which means princess. It also means nomad, which is actually quite fitting for my life. This handsome fella pictured with me is my best friend, Noland, who I also happen to be married to. We recently moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to plant a church.
Since we decided to get married and start this crazy adventure together about three years ago, I’ve been learning a lot about what it means to be a wanderer … and about how wandering isn’t necessarily to stray, but to explore. There’s wonder in the wandering — always more than meets the eye, always something grander that God is doing behind the scenes, and always an invitation to experience more of the mystery, if we dare to trust Him.
I’m a wife, a church planter, a writer, a sister, daughter and friend — and truthfully, I don’t really feel cut out for what I’m doing most of the time.
So that’s what this place is for. Embracing and exploring the mysteries, question marks and “not enoughs” of life. Knowing that it’s the glory of kings to search out the hidden things. (Prov. 25:2) Finding the supernatural in the mundane. Doing everything with eyes full of wonder and feet willing to wander — not away from Him, but into the secret places we’d never reach without Him.
Glad you’re along for the ride. It wouldn’t be nearly as exhilarating without you!

What an awe-inspiring blog! I couldn’t stop reading once I began. Everything you’ve written about is so truthful and beautiful. I’m looking forward to your new posts!
Take care and stay blessed! 🙂
I have been so encouraged by reading through your blog!
Just found your blog and I am so excited to keep up with your journey. You’re a beautiful writer!
I love your story. It is a blessing. I am so happy for you. I am also blessed. I was able to marry my true love and my best friend in San Francisco when gay marriage was briefly legal in 2008. We were blessed that gay marriage was finally legalized in the state of California. My own Mother and Father never even responded to my wedding invitation to them. I was lucky that other family members did respond. They came to the wedding and supported us in the most important event in our lives. I am so happy for both of you. I wish you all the happiness in the world.
Hey Sara,
If you are open to it, I would love to connect with you via email. I couldn’t find the address on your blog, but I would love to share with you specifically (and more confidentially) why I am so blessed by your words.

I think that you are amazing! XO 😇
I have a confession. Last year I stumbled across your posts “Doubt is not an option” and “The gift of waiting” & they were so on point to what I was going through that I screenshot most of both of them and used them to remind me of God’s promises to me. May be creepy, but hey, you’re a great writer. Today I found them again, in another season of waiting, and read more of your blog. I’m literally in tears reading the trials you’ve experienced and the things you’ve learned from God in the wilderness and waiting. While my trial is different, the feelings are not – your words speak to my heart & are so encouraging. Thank you for being willing to be vulnerable and sharing that part of yourself. It’s helping me and I’m sure it’s helped others.
“I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns.” – Phillippians 1:6
LOVE your blog. Thanks for your encouragement.
